In a landmark move for the District, the Rowan County Board of Education has approved the most substantial investment in personnel to date. Approving adjustments to the compensation structure for both classified and certified employees, these changes are aimed at bolstering competitiveness within the region while placing a strong emphasis on fostering long-term employee retention.
The revamped salary tables ensure that District employees receive annual raises to counteract the rising cost of living, while also recognizing and rewarding their years of dedicated service within the district, thereby encouraging retention. Classified employees will see their hourly pay increase yearly opposed to every five years previously. Certified employees' salary tables added incentives for teachers to attain a Rank 2 certification by their 15th year of service, as well as extended pay increases through year 30.
Reflecting on these developments, Board Chair Rick Whelan highlighted the District's annual investment of an additional $1.4 million in employees. The Board of Education is committed to delivering top-tier public education to the community of Rowan County.
